ZUNDA ID has a "group" feature that bundles multiple roles and user accounts together. It also lets you bundle permissions into "roles" and assign them to groups, so you don't need to configure permissions for each user account individually — this makes permission management easier.
An organization can create multiple groups, roles, and user accounts. You can also assign a given role or user account to multiple groups.
For details on how to configure user accounts, groups, and roles, see the following:
See the diagram below for the concepts behind user accounts, groups, and roles.
This page explains what you can accomplish using "user accounts," "groups," and "roles."
Bundling what you manage
A group can bundle multiple users together with one or more roles.
Groups are easiest to manage when organized around a unit that performs the same job (role) within the organization, such as a department or section (for example, "General Affairs Dept. XXX Section" or "Development XXX Team").
Roles are easiest to manage when organized by function (for example, "system administration," "user management," or "procurement").
Note: every group must have at least one role assigned to it.
Linking usage permissions
ZUNDA ID doesn't let you grant permissions directly to a user.
By placing a user and a role that bundles permissions into the same group, the user gains the permissions granted by that role.
This means that when a user changes departments, you don't need to reassign detailed permissions for that individual user — you only need to change which group's role assignment they belong to, which effectively reassigns their usage permissions too.
You can also add roles to a group later.
